Hispanic Ministries
Hugo and Gissella live in Jacksonville, Florida. Hugo is the Director of Hispanic Ministries in the EFCA Southeast Districts. Among the churches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Haiti, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Tennessee , he promotes the vision of reaching Hispanics in their own communities by establishing ESL classes, starting ministries, churches, and recruiting church planters, providing them with the necessary training.
Hugo was born and raised in Chile, South America. As a young man Hugo ministered with Youth With A Mission in Chile and in Paraguay and in 1995 he became pastor of a local church in Santiago Chile. In 2003, Hugo moved his young family to Lebanon, Pennsylvania to serve with the EFCA as a pastor, church planter, and Director of Hispanic Ministries in the EFCA Eastern district.
Hugo and Gissella founded UET (Urban Evangelism Training) in 2006. Hugo and Gissella (and their three boys), moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2016, joining the EFCA Southeast district team as a Director of Hispanic Ministries.
Recently, Hugo started and led the effort to help our Venezuelan pastors and churches that are in great need, by partnering with our district churches and Redemptive Leadership International.
